Dog lovers, outdoorsy types, hikers: I have an article in the March / April 2008 issue of The Bark magazine about hiking with your dog. It chronicles a few outdoor adventures I tested out with the help of the ever-ready Carlie. Hope you get a chance to check it out.
And here's one of my favorite pictures of Carlie "in the field," in her hiking safety harness...
Dear Dog Friends, Book Lovers (and friends who like dogs and books),
A quick note to remind that Carlie and I will be doing a special dog-friendly signing of THROUGH THICK AND THIN this Saturday, September 29:
Zoomies
434 Hudson Street
12:00 - 2:00
All Dogs Welcome
Zoomies is, hands down, my favorite dog store in the world. In addition to visiting with Carlie, you can also pick up some excellent things for your four-legged friends.
And while we're on the subject, herewith two pictures of Carlie at her recent Amanda Jones photo shoot. Look how into it she is:

After a sad day in New York yesterday, today a very happy one.
Today is Carlie's one-year anniversary in New York. It was a year ago today that I drove five hours to Cape May, New Jersey and five hours back to get her. Oh the time, it flies when you're having fun.
In celebration, we spent an extra long time in the park this morning, and I scrambled her an egg. Send Carlie love on her special day...
Carlie makes her Galleycat debut today. Thanks to Ron Hogan, who hopes he'll see Carlie at my reading in 2 weeks (more on that next) but unfortunately, I don't think she's going to be in attendance. Alas. However, she will be appearing all day at my September 22 event --a dog friendly book-signing at Zoomies in the West Village.
In celebration, here's another picture of Carlie. If you look at in the right way, doesn't it look as if she's contemplating the vastness of her fame?
Have a great weekend...
I'm very happy to say that my fourth (very yet to be written) novel is officially sold. Here's the announcement from today / yesterday's Publisher's Marketplace:
PUG HILL author Alison Pace's THINGS TO DO IN THE CITY WITH YOUR DOG, about a woman who reluctantly becomes a stage mom for her best friend - her dog Carlie, who receives fame, fortune, and her own TV show, to Susan Allison at Berkley.
Carlie, by the way, is super excited about her literary debut. And because I'm sure I'll have tremendous say in the matter, what do you think of using my ME magazine photo (taken by the lovely Matthu Placek) for the cover? Kinda meta?
Okay, attention back to Through Thick and Thin.

Carlie and her new bff, Audrey the Italian Greyhound, spent yesterday walking together in the American Cancer Society's Dogswalk Against Cancer. They both did a great job, raised funds for cancer research, and got themselves some red bandanas. Carlie especially enjoyed something called "Slobber Lager," offered at the Heartland Brewery booth, and I think both Carlie and Audrey greatly appreciated that as the walk began, "Who Let The Dogs Out," was blasted from the speakers.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored us.
